The challenge
A mission bigger than the old site could show
Alpine Humane Society does work the whole community depends on, but their old website had fallen behind the heart of it. The two most important actions, donating and adopting, were harder than they should have been. For a nonprofit that runs on trust and generosity, that friction has a real cost.
Our approach
Warmth first, friction last
The site needed to feel like the people behind it, so we designed it mobile-first with the warmth of the work up front, because supporters reach for a phone in the parking lot as often as a desktop at home.
Every layout decision pointed at one of two goals: give people a clear path to donate, and put adoptable animals and upcoming events front and center. Less to wade through, more reason to act.
And because a shelter's site is never really finished, we stayed on as their website concierge, handling updates, fixes, and new events so the team can keep their attention on the animals.
The outcome
What changed for Alpine Humane Society
The site looks and feels like who they actually are, and it works the same on every screen. Supporters can donate, meet an adoptable animal, or find the next event in a tap or two, on a foundation we keep current as the mission grows.
I just had Origo create two sites for me and I couldn't be happier! The sites look great and Origo was super easy to work with.
